Carcassonne: Expansion 9 - Sheep & Shepherds adds even more new elements to the game mechanics.

Animals come to graze in your meadows and vineyards flourish everywhere. Your shepherd will raise his sheep while tending geese. But watch out for the wolf, who will scare away your flocks!

When you flip over a meadow tile, you can place your shepherd on the meadow instead of just a follower. By doing so, your shepherd can try to acquire a sheep from the sheep bag. But be careful! This bag also contains big bad wolves! If you are lucky and draw a sheep, you can place it next to your shepherd—and they will live happily ever after, or almost! You can then, when placing a new meadow tile, try to expand your flock by drawing again from the bag – at your own risk – or score points for the number of sheep in your meadow.

No, your supporter won't have to wait patiently with a small bouquet of wild roses! If you draw a hill tile, you immediately take another tile, without looking at it, and place it UNDER the hill tile. – What, one tile under another, but why? – You then place your follower according to the usual rules and not directly on the hill. In a situation where two opposing followers score points for a city or a road, if one follower is placed on a hill tile, he will win the majority war and get away – alone – with the points!

This box includes:

• 19 New Land Tiles: Score extra points with vineyards when scoring abbeys and gardens.
• 6 Shepherds: Extend your shepherd's pasture to grow his flock. Geese nearby will give him even more value.
• 1 Cloth Bag, 16 Flock Tokens & 2 Wolf Tokens: The bag adds a slight element of risk to the game. The more Flock Tokens you draw, the more points you score with your shepherd. But if you draw a Wolf Token, you will lose all your sheep.
